FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
The most common questions homeowners ask before a remodel. Anything else, call (813) 536-5344 and ask a person.
What services does Salt & Pepper offer?
We are a full-service design-build remodeler: kitchen remodels, bathroom remodels, whole-home renovations, room and home additions, and new construction. Everything runs through one team, with in-house 3D design available, permits handled, and a single contract from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.
Where are you located?
We're based in Tampa at 3113 N Armenia Ave, Tampa, FL 33607, with a Sarasota office on Main Street.
Do you offer free consultations?
Yes. We discuss your project, understand your needs and provide an estimate. Contact us to schedule an appointment.
What areas do you serve?
The greater Tampa Bay area: Tampa, St. Petersburg, Clearwater, Sarasota and 22 surrounding communities. If you're unsure whether we cover your location, contact us to confirm.
How long does a typical remodeling project take?
The timeline varies with scope and complexity. We provide a detailed timeline during the consultation phase so you have a clear understanding of the duration before work begins.
What sets Salt & Pepper apart from other contractors?
Personalized service, transparent communication and exceptional attention to detail. We take time to understand your vision, provide clear guidance throughout, and manage every aspect of the project, from initial consultation to final walkthrough.
What should you expect to invest?
Our average project investment is around $60,000. Whole-home and new construction projects run significantly higher, and single-room work runs lower. Final pricing depends on size, scope, layout changes, material selections, permitting and existing conditions. We walk you through all of it before any work begins.
How much of a deposit do you require?
Less than you might expect, typically 10% or less to secure your project on our schedule. The rest is billed as we hit clearly defined milestones, so payments always track with completed work.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. Salt & Pepper is a licensed Florida general contractor (CGC1535727) and carries full liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Our subcontractors are licensed and insured too.
Do you handle permits and inspections?
Yes, all of them. We pull every required permit and coordinate every inspection with the city or county. You won't fill out a form, stand in line, or wait on hold.
Will you help with design and material selections?
Absolutely. As a design-build team, we help shape the layout, choose finishes and fixtures that fit your style and budget, and make sure everything works together before construction starts.
Can I live in my home during the remodel?
In most cases, yes. For a single bathroom or kitchen project we do our best to keep the rest of your home livable and clean while we work.
What happens if you find hidden problems once the walls are open?
Older Tampa Bay homes hide things. Our promise: we stop, show it to you, and document it. You get a written change order with the cost and schedule impact before any additional work happens.
Do you warranty your work?
Yes. Every qualifying project includes a written 2-year workmanship warranty. If a covered issue is caused by our workmanship, we inspect and correct it at no additional cost. Manufacturer warranties on materials and equipment are provided separately.
